Best Management Practices for Construction

What are Best Management Practices:

Best Management Practices (BMPs) are methods used to help minimize pollution coming from nonpoint sources. By implementing BMPs on your construction site, you can help reduce the amount of pollution your site contributes.

What can you do?

Did you know that sediment is the number one pollutant to Tennessee water? You can help stop sediment from reaching our waterways, further polluting them, by implementing and following Erosion Prevention and Control Methods (EPCMs) at your site.

Be sure to acquire the proper permits BEFORE you begin and work on your site. Visit our Permits and Permitting Processing page for more information.
